Andre Verbesselt smashes the world record for the most expensive internet auction ever: E1 292 400, S.A. R15 000 000. A total of 202 pigeons, including 123 youngsters were sold for an average price of E6 398 per pigeon! Staggering figures.....

The demand from all over the world to access PIPA’s internet website to bid on A. Verbesselt’s M. Aelbrecht Collection was so high that their site experienced technical difficulties to handle the volume.

He has dominated the International One-Loft Races worldwide over the last few years, in a way which no other Belgium has ever done. Some of his top One-Loft race results are:

 To quote Dr. Wim Peters, SA & World Pigeon News, Feb. Par 2 of 2 page 14. “To evade the problem of acquiring stock that has a low percentage of successful breeding, examine the pedigree. Nothing is guaranteed but generally the more good performances there are in the pedigree of the bird, the better will be its changes of being a successfull stock pigeon.”

 What is sad is that most of the top birds were sold to China and ‘lost forever’, meaning that they will not soon again become available to the majority of the world as China is prohibited, just like South Africa to export because of “Bird Flue” and other diseases.

 During our visit to Belgium and on PIPA we were fortunate to have purchased 16 original A. Verbesselts via U. Lemmens. We also purchased various birds bred by the same Verbesselts to add to our own Collection of 4 direct BAK 17 children. We are fortunate to also own 3 half sisters of MISS JOICE, direct daughters to SUPERBREEDER 970. Mated together with our 2 Direct sons of BAK 17 we are in process of breeding our own “KING”, “GOLDEN CARELLI” etc.
