Maybe the surname Matthijs (Matthysen) appeals to me or is it the nostalgia that goes with some pigeon families?
I don’t know but what I sure know is that I have always wanted some of these birds in my loft. In 2013
I started to ask all in the know – who possibly might still have pure bred De SmetMatthijs pigeons locally.
I was pointed in the direction of OomKoosKoen who was the owner of the famous “Ponderosa Mannetjie” – NL 81 909467.
