A QUICK STORY -----A MUST READ........THE FIRST UGLY DUCKLINGS BRED FROM THE R100 000 SUPER PAIR OF T. LOCK.
The day I weaned my first two babies bred from the R100 000 SUPER PAIR after I purchased them, I phoned the late Tom Lock.
I was very dissapointed with the way the first two babies bred from the pair handled. They had great wings, but were boney, vents were not tight, and not very well muscled at all.
'His answer to me was very simple- "YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT GREAT PIGEONS" " Put them into an aviary and handle them after they have matured "
I did just that, and the results of those two "ugly cock's" progeny is history today:
They were:

* SA THU 6223/05 - "6223"
Sire, grand and ggrandsire to many winners and Ace Pigeons.
Gggrand sire to SANPO BRONZE Medal M/D as well as SANPO Bronze Medal Overall Distances 2013 season for P. Coetzee.
Gggrandsire to SANPO OERF 12131/14, Ace Pigeon Y/B OERF Federation Middle Distance 2015.
His son is sire to 1st African Challenge Ace Pigeon Carnival 2016 etc......
Nestmate brother to 'MONEYMAKER"
* SA THU 6224/05 - "MONEYMAKER"
Sire, grandsire and great grandsire to many winners.
Sire to ZA TRPF 19318/09 - 4 X Winner & 1st National Ace Pigeon L/D 2011. Raced and scored 15/15 races in 2011 season.Distance SANPO GOLD MEDAL 2011.
Both these cocks that I judged to be RUBBISH bred some of SOUTH AFRICA'S best racers, winning NATIONAL LEVEL SANPO AWARDS.........

I thought I knew what good pigeons handles like..........and today, after being Champion of three different organisations I still know nothing.....
